Pre - Prepared Items for even Faster Serving Times

This pie can be made 1 day ahead and stored, covered, at room temperature.

Money Savers

Look for the store-brand cocoa in the baking aisle. Because they don't do extensive national marketing, the store-brand merchandise will frequently be less expensive.

Serving Variation

For a hint of the Mediterranean, substitute almond extract for the vanilla and slivered almonds for the walnuts.
