Grilled Garlic Steak

Sirloin steaks, hot pepper sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice

Worcestershire sauce, garlic, sugar, ginger

Ingredients

4 (1 1/2-inch) sirloin steaks

bullet

1/2 cup soy sauce

bullet

1 tablespoon lemon juice

bullet

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

bullet

3 cloves garlic, crushed

bullet

1 teaspoon sugar

bullet

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

bullet

Hot pepper sauce

bullet

Serves 4

Step 1

Trim excess fat from the steaks. Score remaining fat from outer edge to, but not into, the meat.

Step 2

Mix soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, sugar, ginger and hot sauce to taste in shallow dish. Add steak turning to coat.

Step 3

Marinate steak, covered, in refrigerator, turning occasionally. Drain and discard marinade. Preheat grill.

Step 4

Grill steaks 4 inches above hot coals or broil 6 inches from heat source for 7 minutes. Turn steaks over. Grill or broil for 5 minutes longer or until done to taste.

Combine the steak and marinade in a sealable plastic bag and freeze for up to 3 months.

Money Savers

Flank steak can be less expensive alternative to sirloin. For a more tender result, marinate the flank steak in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours before grilling it.

Serving Variation

This marinade is also delicious when used on rib-eye roast- and even on skinless, boneless chicken breasts.
