Pasta with Tomato-Cream Sauce

Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter or margarine |
 |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
 |
8 large tomatoes, peeled, deseeded, chopped |
 |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
 |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
 |
16 ounces spaghetti |
 |
3/4 cup half-and-half |
 |
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or 2 teaspoons dried
basil |
 |
Serves 4 |
Step 1
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add
garlic. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
Step 2
Add tomatoes, salt and pepper to skillet. Cook until sauce
is thickened, about 15 minutes.
Step 3
Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
Drain.
Step 4
Add half-and-half and basil to skillet. Cook until mixture
is slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Divide pasta among 4 individual
plates. Pour sauce over pasta.
